More About Specifire

Specifire was established in 1984 initially to contract in the Fire Detection and Automatic Extinguishing Systems market. We expanded in 1995 and opened a Sprinkler division which is now the biggest installer of fire protection and detection systems in KZN.

Since the company’s inception, we have built a large client base of some of South Africa's biggest companies including: Sappi Fine Papers, Sappi Saiccor, Illovo Sugar, Tongaat Hulett, Hulamin, The Pavilion Shopping Centre, Gateway Shopping Centre, Mondi Paper, Toyota S.A., Unilever, Stefanutti Stocks, Alusaf, Clicks Organisation, S.A.B., Illovo Alcohols, Royal Swazi Sugar, Broll properties and WSP.

We are the current holder of the ASIB “Best Installation Award” for our R11 million installation at the new premises of Unilever in Durban. The judges said “this work was the best we have ever seen”. The project included Sprinklers Fire Detection and FM 200 extinguishing systems.

Because of the quality of our product and performance, we negotiate over 60% of the contracts awarded to us. We have recently negotiated two large contracts (Saiccor & Plascon Paints). This indicates the confidence and trust they attach to working with us. It has been our experience that these projects tend to be executed on a more amicable and certainly a more efficient basis largely due to the level of commitment by both parties ensuring a successful and timeous completion of the project.

Specifire also has service or maintenance contracts with several of the above i.e. Sappi Saiccor, Hulamin, Toyota, Unilever, Illovo Sugar, Musgrave Centre, The Workshop, Embassy Building, Sanlam Centre Pinetown, RMB Properties, Broll Properties, EThekwini Metro, 320 West Street, Nampak.
